Insider Alarms Fans Over Massive GTA VI Size, Prompting Demands for Answers from Rockstar Games

It appears you may not need to invest in a dedicated SSD specifically for Grand Theft Auto VI after all.

A mysterious screenshot recently began circulating within the Grand Theft Auto VI community, allegedly capturing a brief moment when the game’s file size appeared on the Microsoft Store.

According to the image, GTA VI would require a staggering 676.7 GB of storage space. Such a massive figure didn’t immediately set off alarm bells for everyone, as Rockstar’s upcoming title is expected to be incredibly ambitious in scale.

High-budget modern titles frequently demand several hundred gigabytes. For instance, the dinosaur-themed survival epic ARK: Survival Evolved can swell to roughly 500 GB when all DLCs are installed.

Reddit post showing fake leak

Nevertheless, some eagle-eyed fans were quick to identify the ruse hidden within the alleged storage requirements.

The digits “67” were a deliberate nod to the “6-7” meme. However, since not all gamers are deeply immersed in TikTok subculture, many took the information as a legitimate leak.

The person behind the prank, TheCanadianGTR, admitted he was surprised by the sheer impact of his joke. He took advantage of the viral moment to promote his YouTube channel while addressing the confusion:

No way… you actually fell for it! Regardless, I appreciate you all making this my most-liked post ever—it really means a lot.

In the wake of this hoax, fans are now more eager than ever for Rockstar Games to release official details regarding the actual install size of Grand Theft Auto VI.
