Following Riot’s decision to halt work on the project in mid-2025, Collins-Laflamme reacquired the IP in November. Hypixel is now targeting an Early Access launch for January 13, 2026. Describing the current “no-nonsense” development style, he added: “No endless meetings, full trust in the developers, and pushing directly to the main build. We have a clear vision and we’re moving fast, even if it means addressing some technical debt later.”

While the Hytale owner respects Minecraft as a masterpiece, he confirms his sandbox is taking a unique path with a crafting system inspired by Terraria.
