Players revisiting Mafia II over the winter holidays have been hit by a frustrating technical glitch.
Valve recently rolled out a minor beta update for the Steam client, introducing a series of technical refinements and stability patches.
Lately, a persistent bug has been causing several titles to crash without warning. This issue was particularly noticeable for gamers returning to the original Mafia II during the festive break.
Valve addressed the situation in their latest notes:
Resolved an issue that caused certain Steam DRM-protected titles to close unexpectedly, including Mafia II (Classic) and Football Manager 2012.
Linux Enhancements
- Fixed a bug where searched applications would fail to appear in the “Add a Non-Steam Game” selection menu.
- Resolved a conflict where Windows-based games were occasionally hidden from the library while using Proton mapping.
Steam Input Updates
- Support for Nintendo Switch and GameCube adapters in native mode has been temporarily disabled to address crash reports encountered when using other controllers.
- Corrected a bug where controller configurations would appear empty if the “Enable Gamepad Button Combinations” setting was toggled off.
