Hideo Kojima Interview

Explaining his process, Kojima remarked, “To me, creating isn’t special. It’s simply a part of my daily life.” He likened the drive to innovate to basic human functions like eating, sleeping, or walking. “It’s built into my body,” he added, insisting that this constant state of conceptualization isn’t unique to him.

Kojima further elaborated on his workflow, noting that his mind is active from the moment he wakes until he falls asleep. Once an inspiration strikes, he immediately visualizes the concept and heads to the studio to manifest it. For the auteur, this cycle is vital: “If creativity were taken out of my daily life, I probably wouldn’t survive.”

Hideo Kojima has already described Death Stranding 2 as his “masterpiece,” though he typically considers his latest project to be his finest work.
