The members of KATSEYE are manifesting a collaboration that would be undeniably “brat.” In a recent profile, the rising global girl group expressed their fervent desire to team up with pop visionary Charli xcx—who already boasts a creative link to the band as a co-writer on their Billboard Hot 100 hit, “Gabriela.”

Speaking with People, Manon Bannerman confirmed that the “Apple” singer is high on their list of dream musical partners. “I just recently met her, and I think we all really hope to work with her more in the future,” Bannerman remarked. She further praised Charli’s influence, describing the group as being “in love” with the Brat era. “She’s such an inspiration to us. We don’t know what the future holds, but we’re definitely, definitely super into that idea.”

This ambition comes at a pivotal moment for the sextet—comprising Bannerman, Sophia Laforteza, Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, and Yoonchae Jeung. The group recently secured their first-ever Grammy nomination, landing a spot in the prestigious Best New Artist category alongside peers like Addison Rae and Lola Young.

While their ascent has been fueled by viral success and hits like “Gnarly,” the group has also had to navigate the darker side of sudden fame. In a candid discussion with BBC News, Lara Raj addressed the “jarring” nature of online hostility, while Laforteza emphasized their resilience. “We know it’s a part of fame,” she noted. “But it doesn’t change the fact that we are human.”

To stay grounded, the group has leaned on the wisdom of industry veterans. Raj revealed that R&B star Kehlani reached out personally to offer guidance. “She gave a lot of advice about pushing through,” Raj shared, noting the importance of staying present. “I think a lot of artists we look up to have given us the advice to really stay in the present and enjoy real life—not the internet. Enjoy the performances, enjoy meeting the fans in person.”

While fans wait for a potential KATSEYE and Charli xcx link-up, the British alt-pop icon is currently occupied with her own cinematic endeavors. Charli is crafting a companion album for Emerald Fennell’s upcoming film adaptation of Wuthering Heights, having recently debuted the tracks “House” and “Chains of Love.”
