Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5 and GTA Online Generated $10 Billion for Creators
The combination of GTA 5 and GTA Online has turned out to be extremely profitable — over 10 years, revenues from it, according to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, amount to 10 billion dollars.
On average, that’s 1 billion a year, but it’s worth remembering that the first billion was earned over the initial three days of sales in September 2013. After that, there was the launch of “Online,” in-game purchases, numerous re-releases on more modern platforms, and a paid subscription — all of which likely contribute to the mentioned sum.
