Get Ready for the Launch of Shattered Space

In “Shattered Space,” Starfield’s inaugural major expansion, you are invited to explore House Va’ruun’s home world for the first time. This meticulously crafted new locale offers a chance to delve into the enigmatic saga of the Great Serpent’s devotees.

Upon reaching Va’ruun’kai, you’ll find the city of Dazra in ruins, devastated by a formidable vortex, leaving House Va’ruun in disarray. Your mission in “Shattered Space” involves uncovering the secrets behind this cataclysm and discovering the fate of the surviving members of House Va’ruun.

“Shattered Space” will be available starting September 30 on Xbox Series X | S and PC.

Global Launch Times

Accessing and Beginning “Shattered Space”

Players who purchased the Premium or Constellation Editions of Starfield will gain access to “Shattered Space” as part of their original purchase. Standard Edition owners can upgrade by purchasing the Digital Premium Upgrade, which includes “Shattered Space” along with additional digital content such as a Digital Art Book, Original Soundtrack, 1,000 Creation Credits, and the Constellation Skin pack.

Game Pass subscribers can upgrade to the Premium Edition to enjoy “Shattered Space”.

To commence your adventure in “Shattered Space,” players must complete the initial mission of the main storyline, “One Small Step.” Once this mission is finished, players will receive a distress signal when they grav-jump to a non-mission or non-encounter orbit, leading them to discover The Oracle, a large star station.

While any player can embark on this adventure, a level of 35 or higher is recommended for an optimal experience.

With numerous updates and enhancements to the Starfield base game, “Shattered Space” is an opportune moment to delve into Starfield. Here are some of the exciting new features and improvements since launch.

REV-8 Land Vehicle

The REV-8 has arrived! Now you can traverse new terrains and reach greater heights with your very own land cruiser. The REV-8 comes equipped with a mounted turret for fending off hostile creatures and forward boosters for quick travel.

Enhanced Maps

Responding to player requests, we’ve introduced improved and more detailed surface maps, highlighting points of interest. We also added fast travel markers for city vendors, making navigation in Neon and other large cities more convenient.

Starfield Creations

We’ve also launched Creations for Starfield, featuring a wealth of bespoke content from our developers and creators.

New Gameplay Options

Several new updates allow you to personalize your gameplay experience, including the ability to access ship cargo from anywhere in your inventory, increasing vendor credits, and expanding carry capacity.

We have also introduced difficulty settings and options to alter survival features, such as food and environmental hazard effects. For combat, you can make space battles more challenging or simplify run-and-gun combat.

For those seeking an added challenge, try the new Extreme difficulty setting!

Bounty Scanning

The new bounty scanning system lets you track and eliminate targets with bounties. For additional bounties, check out the Elite Trackers Alliance mission board.

Melee Weapon Enhancements and Ammunition Crafting

We have introduced improved tiers for melee weapons and the ability to enhance them at crafting benches.

Additionally, you can now research various ammunition types at a Research Station and craft them at an Industrial Workbench. No need to worry about running out of ammo for your favorite weapon when you can simply craft more.
