Fortnite has officially confirmed that South Park content will be arriving in the battle royale this week, a move that has clearly delighted the game’s design director.
At this stage, Fortnite has collaborated with an exhaustive list of intellectual properties—ranging from the iconic to the obscure. In recent years, Epic Games has leaned heavily into the adult animation sector. Following the debut of Peter Griffin in early 2024, the game quickly introduced characters from Futurama, King of the Hill, Bob’s Burgers, and Beavis and Butt-Head, eventually leading to a comprehensive The Simpsons-themed season last November. Now, one of the final remaining titans of the genre is set to make its mark.
After weeks of community rumors, the official Fortnite account shared an image of Butters Stotch playing the game. The teaser included the cryptic caption “Chaos, loading…” and the date 1.9.26—confirming the launch for this Thursday.
AHHHHHHHHHHHH WORKING ON THIS ONE MADE ME SO HAPPY. Please excuse the lack of professionalism here but working at Epic allows you to have your childhood dreams come true 💫 And the real Chaos isn’t even using the American date format… https://t.co/nAs4HLdJkC

Ted Timmins, Fortnite’s Design Director, couldn’t contain his enthusiasm for the project. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he admitted his excitement, stating, “AHHHHHHHHHHHH WORKING ON THIS ONE MADE ME SO HAPPY.” He added, “Please excuse the lack of professionalism here, but working at Epic allows you to have your childhood dreams come true.”
While the full scope of the crossover remains under wraps, the explicit mention of “Chaos” strongly suggests that Professor Chaos—Butters’ infamous supervillain alter ego—will be a central figure in the update.
According to prominent Fortnite leaker HYPEX, the collaboration is expected to go beyond simple cosmetics. Reports indicate multiple character skins and new “Mythic” items that players can utilize during matches, adding a fresh gameplay layer to the Battle Royale experience.
Given the recent SpongeBob SquarePants collaboration, it is also highly probable that we will see “Sidekicks” introduced. A Kenny McCormick sidekick featuring various comical death animations would certainly fit the show’s dark humor. Fans won’t have to wait long to see what surprises are in store.
