Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 2 – YouTube

The target of late 2026 appears firm, and York believes it’s a strategic move for Rockstar. “Launching a blockbuster game a month before the holiday season is the optimal way to maximize sales,” he notes. “Typically, studios only utilize a delay once or twice to polish the final product, so I’m confident the game will hit its current window.”
While his logic is sound, Rockstar faces other internal challenges. A series of layoffs recently led to accusations of union-busting, an issue that could draw scrutiny from British government officials. Despite these hurdles, the industry remains fixated on the launch.
The arrival of Grand Theft Auto 6 is inevitable. Whether it hits that November milestone is the only remaining question. For now, fans can only hope the schedule remains unchanged.
Industry peers agree: delaying GTA 6 might be the “smartest move” Rockstar can make. The lead developer of Elder Scrolls 6 noted that fans would much rather wait for a masterpiece than play something that “falls short of their lofty expectations.”
