Vincke doesn’t seem particularly troubled by the fact that Larian’s mysterious marketing might have inadvertently stoked impossible expectations. “The most important thing for us is not to disappoint the community,” he told Polygon. Following the earth-shattering success of Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian now finds itself competing with legendary “what-ifs” like Bloodborne 2 or a hypothetical Baldur’s Gate 4. Vincke’s mission remains simple yet ambitious: “We want to make people smile, terrify them, move them to tears, and make them fall in love.”
As Divinity gears up for its next chapter, The Last of Us co-creator has reaffirmed his stance against AI, promising to eschew the technology while crafting his latest project.
