ETS2 Greece DLC: industries and custom depots preview

SCS Software used an October 2024 development preview to explain how the Greece map expansion would turn regional industries into delivery destinations for Euro Truck Simulator 2. The studio showed five new facility types and a separate group of hand-built depots before the DLC’s release.

Five industry and warehouse types

The preview identified a food factory, cotton-processing plant, olive farm, marble-processing factory and warehouse facility. SCS connected those choices to recognizable parts of the Greek economy and landscape rather than filling the map only with generic depots.

Olive production represented a long-established Mediterranean industry. Cotton added agricultural cargo and processing work, while marble factories reflected a material closely associated with Greek architecture and exports. The food factory was designed for inbound and outbound food deliveries, and the smaller warehouse model was created specifically for Greece and some of its islands.

Custom depots instead of repeated prefabs

SCS distinguished custom depots from the reusable prefabricated sites seen elsewhere in the game. Map designers assembled these locations individually so their roads, loading areas and surrounding scenery could fit each setting.

The announced custom sites included quarries, farms, a shipyard and fuel stations. Together with the new industry models, they gave the expansion a broader mix of agricultural, industrial and maritime delivery work.

Release status

The screenshots in the 22 October article were marked as work in progress and could change before launch. Euro Truck Simulator 2 — Greece later released on Steam on 4 December 2024. It is downloadable content for the base game, so the preview should now be read as a record of how its depot network was designed.
