To celebrate the demo announcement, Square Enix also debuted the official opening cinematic for Dragon Quest VII Reimagined. This breathtaking video offers a deep look at the project’s updated art direction, featuring high-quality CG sequences that bring the classic world to life like never before.

In regions such as Australia and New Zealand, where it is already January 7, gameplay footage from the demo has begun appearing online. Based on these early playthroughs, players can expect approximately three hours of content. While it doesn’t quite reach the massive 10-hour scale of the Dragon Quest XI S trial, it provides a meaty introduction to the redesigned narrative and highlights how the developers have accelerated the pacing to reach the first combat encounter much sooner.
