Blizzard has begun systematically addressing various technical hurdles in their latest update.
December marked the debut of Diablo IV’s 11th season, titled “Season of Divine Intervention.” The launch faced several complications, prompting developers to release a series of rapid-fire hotfixes to stabilize the experience.
Initial reports highlighted broken mechanics and players losing access to the Vessel of Hatred expansion content. In response, Blizzard deployed the following fixes:
- Resolved a bug that prevented specific items from being successfully Hallowed.
- Fixed an issue that blocked players from claiming their earned gifts.
- Addressed a glitch that restricted access to Vessel of Hatred expansion content for some users.
Shortly after, another Diablo IV patch was rolled out to eliminate further technical inconsistencies:
- Fixed an error where players could lose access to Divine Blessings during local cooperative play.
- Corrected a flaw where meteors summoned by the Hellfire Essence could reflect Thorns damage back onto the player.
- Fixed an issue where the property responsible for increasing item quality levels failed to trigger correctly during Hallowing.
- Resolved a bug where the Sorcerer’s Flame Shield enchantment wouldn’t activate while using “Beast Claw” if the skill was on the action bar.
- Fixed a problem where Tortured Gifts failed to reset if a Helltide event occurred in the same region consecutively.
- Addressed an issue where visual and audio effects from the “Essence of Abomination” Divine Blessing would linger in town hubs (these effects have been fully disabled for the time being).
Additionally, the Diablo IV development team was forced to temporarily disable the corrupted “Hellfire Essence” aspect. This was due to a volatile interaction with meteors that was causing unintended player character deaths.
