The third and final day of Rolling Loud 2021 in Miami (July 25) didn’t skimp out on the fiery performances and major league appearances. Not only were fans treated to the crafty showmanship of hometown hero Rick Ross, but T-Pain’s flair and zany personality kept the party rocking too. And it wasn’t only the veterans who flexed their stage prowess: Today’s generation of stars — including Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, and Jack Harlow — steamrolled through their sets with relative ease.
After teaming up with Lil Nas X for their triumphant anthem “Industry Baby,” Harlow didn’t waste time performing the collaboration during his set at Rolling Loud. Nas — who was absent for the first-time performance — poked fun at Harlow’s decision to rap the song without him. “This mfer beat me to the first performance of the song,” Nas X tweeted. The Louisville slugger didn’t shy away from the surprises as he later performed “Tyler Herro” alongside the Miami Heat star.
Megan Thee Stallion was off to the races when it was her time to grace the Ciroc Stage. Megan applauded the “Florida Hotties” who matched her energy and twerk abilities when songs such as “Hot Girl Summer,” “Body,” and “WAP” blared through the speakers. Megan was also reflective during her performance, most notably at the start of her “Big Ol Freak,” where she ruminated on her life before superstardom. “I really went from rapping in my dorm room, rapping in the parking lot, rapping in the booty club … now I’m rapping on the Rolling Loud stage,” she said.”
Following Megan’s set was DaBaby. Dubbing himself the “Live Stage Killa,” Baby blazed through his catalog ranging from “Suge” to “Masterpiece.” His set also sparked controversy when he brought out Tory Lanez as a surprise guest to perform their record “SKAT.”
“I’ll give somebody out here a million dollars if they can guess who in here,” said Baby, while Lanez unveiled himself from his mascot outfit. Last month, Megan and Baby feuded on social media after he promoted Lanez’s “SKAT” record.
Last summer, Lanez allegedly shot Megan in the foot. That November, he pleaded not guilty to two felony charges. After that, Baby jumped into “Cash Shit,” the popular collaboration between him and Megan Thee Stallion, further elevating the tension. “This a very important song to me ’cause you know, Baby don’t politic. I’m a real n—-. I be on that “Cash Shit,” he said before allowing Megan’s verse to play.
Things continued to go awry for Baby when he went on a homophobic rant during his set. “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases, that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up,” he said. “Ladies, if your p—y smell like water, put your cellphone lighter up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d— in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.”
Later, Baby received backlash from viewers on social media for his comments.
Billboard has reached out to Baby’s camp for a statement.
At nearly 1 a.m., the night’s headliner Post Malone kept fans entertained with a nearly 90-minute set. Not only did he chug his beer and quip with fans about playing his “sh—y f—ing songs,” but he barreled his way through his classics including “Better Now,” “Circles,” “Goodbyes,” and more. “This is a disclaimer: I haven’t sang these songs in a year and a half. There’s not shot in hell that I’m gonna remember all the words,” he joked.
Fortunately, Post did remember and expressed his gratitude at the end of his set, where he got a bit emotional. After performing “Congratulations,” he stared into the crowd and soaked in all the love that came his way. “I’m the luckiest man in the world. Thank you so f–king much. There’s no words to express how I f–king feel right now,” he said before exiting the stage.
