Closed Beta Postponed & Patch 7 Highlights

Closed Beta Postponed & Patch 7 Highlights
Greetings, folks,

We had planned to launch the Patch 7 Closed Beta today, but once again, we were reminded of the enduring lesson in game development that fixing one bug can unearth another. In our latest build, we fixed an issue that inadvertently caused passive rolls to malfunction. While we investigate this hiccup, we have decided to postpone the Closed Beta to later this week.

On the upside, you still have an opportunity to register for the beta! Visit the Baldur’s Gate 3 store page on Steam to sign up and be randomly selected.

In the meantime, we thought you would appreciate a sneak peek at the highlights from the Patch 7 notes, featuring over 1,000 fixes and enhancements!

In addition to the new Evil Ending cinematics, split screen refinements, and the Modding Toolkit, you’ll find plenty of notable fixes: from clarifying soap usage (we found too many suspicious teeth marks on bars) to correcting Gale’s Necrotic Aura behavior (it had some bad vibes) and ensuring Jaheira resumes following the party after Long Rest (turns out she needed a longer nap).

By popular demand, you can now enable Honour Mode mechanics in Custom Mode gameplay! Simply select the option in the Ruleset dropdown and you can experience exciting new battle mechanics without the pressure of traditional Honour Mode.

For more detailed updates and visual previews, check out our recent Community Update!

Do note that Patch 7 will initially be available exclusively on Steam’s Closed Beta, with a full release slated for September.

Warning: Some of these entries may contain spoilers, so proceed with caution!
