Future iPhones May Become Touch-Sensitive on All Sides, Including Foldable Models
Apple has obtained relevant patents. These patents describe smartphones that feature touch-sensitive panels on the sides and even on the back, which will be necessary for implementing additional functions, including enhanced gaming controls (hello, PS Vita).
Interestingly, the existing buttons framed by touch panels will remain physical, even though there were recent rumors suggesting that all buttons on the iPhone would soon become touch-sensitive.
