“Battle after Battle” Could Get a Sequel

Actress Teyana Taylor has dropped hints regarding a potential sequel to Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest epic, *The Battle of Baksheesh*.

According to Taylor, she is already in active discussions with the director about expanding the narrative. The proposed follow-up would likely center on the revolutionary Perfidia Beverly Hills, the character Taylor brought to life on screen.

“[I keep telling Paul], we need to explore what Perfidia has been doing for the last 16 years. Perfidia and Willa [her daughter] deserve their own scenes together. When Willa walks out that door in the final sequence, I asked him: ‘Where is she actually going? Is she off to find her mother?’ I love that there is still a glimmer of hope there, leaving space for a second installment. These conversations are very real. I can confirm that I am currently pleading with Paul to commit to it,” Taylor revealed during an interview with IndieWire.

While Anderson’s own perspective on a continuation remains undisclosed, Taylor’s performance has already earned her a Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination.

Partially inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s novel *Vineland*, the film follows Bob (Leonardo DiCaprio), a former revolutionary who must track down and safeguard his daughter, Willa (Chase Infiniti), from those wishing them harm.
