Legendary American actress, singer, and filmmaker Barbra Streisand is set to receive the prestigious Honorary Palme d’Or at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, according to reports from Variety.
This announcement follows the news that “The Lord of the Rings” visionary Peter Jackson will also be recognized with the same accolade. The presentations will take place during the festival’s festivities on the French Riviera, scheduled to run from May 12 to May 23.
Since launching her career in the 1960s, Streisand has achieved the rare EGOT status, earning two Academy Awards alongside multiple Emmy, Grammy, and Tony awards. Her most iconic film credits include *Funny Girl*, *Hello, Dolly!*, *What’s Up, Doc?*, *The Way We Were*, *Yentl*, *A Star Is Born*, and *Meet the Fockers*.
The full lineup for the Cannes Film Festival will be unveiled on April 9. Celebrated South Korean director Park Chan-wook (*Oldboy*) will serve as the Jury President for the main competition.
