Aurora will release her new song “Cure for Me” on Wednesday followed by a music video premiere and YouTube livestream the next day.
The Norwegian art pop singer announced to her “little warriors” on Instagram that her “next chapter is slowly unfolding,” starting with the “Cure for Me” song drop next week. The cover art features her holding a court jester’s mask up to her face while sitting in a trippy, black-and-white-tiled room.
“May there never be a cure for human nature,” she wrote in her caption.
Aurora also shared a teaser for the song, revealing an upbeat, arcade-sounding melody backed by a sturdy bass beat. A trailer is currently serving as a placeholder for the video, which premieres on YouTube at 1 p.m. on July 8. The 21-second teaser features a small pixilated version of Aurora jumping over masks and collecting albums — matching the gamer vibe of the song.
“Cure for Me” will be Aurora’s first solo release since A Different Kind of Human (Step II) in 2019, which was preceded by its 2018 counterpart Infections of a Different Kind (Step I). She’s seen a couple of major career boosts since then, from her vocal contributions to the Billboard Hot 100 hit “Into the Unknown” on Disney’s Frozen II soundtrack to the TikTok revival of her 2014 song “Runaway.”
This latest news follows Aurora’s recent mini-tour announcement — starting in August, she’ll perform at seven different locations across Norway, the Netherlands, New York and Los Angeles.
