Headwinds – Against the Odds | ARC Raiders – YouTube

The controversy stems from the game’s inflexible 24-hour cycle. Since Bird City and other major events operate on a fixed loop, players who aren’t available during those specific hours are perpetually locked out. While other minor in-game modifiers rotate frequently enough to avoid this issue, the high-profile nature of the bird event makes its scarcity particularly grating.
“This is a valid grievance. There’s no reason these events shouldn’t cycle through different hours daily so everyone gets a turn,” another Redditor commented. Others noted that missing out on limited-time rewards like the Bobcat blueprint during the Locked Gate event felt equally punishing for those with professional or family commitments.
To resolve this, the community has proposed shifting to a dynamic rotation. Rather than a static 24-hour clock, using a 22 or 23-hour loop would allow event windows to naturally migrate across different time zones, eventually aligning with every player’s free time.
Regardless of the method, Embark Studios may need to reconsider its approach to live events. As it stands, the current system is alienating a loyal portion of the player base that simply wants to experience the latest content without sacrificing their sleep or livelihood.
