Arc Raiders Debuts First-Person Perspective and Showcases Gameplay Transformation
A segment of the player base is eager for an alternative camera perspective.
Arc Raiders players recently discovered that the game’s developer console was accessible. While some exploited this to gain an unfair advantage by disabling certain environmental objects, a user known as Short_Satisfaction_9 utilized the access to experiment with a first-person perspective, later sharing their impressions of the experience:
“When Jumpers lunge at you while playing in first-person, it feels reminiscent of Dying Light. It is incredibly difficult to capture that same level of immersion through a third-person camera. While I doubt Embark will ever implement a dedicated FPS mode, it was fascinating to experiment with it while the opportunity lasted.”
The developers of Arc Raiders have since deployed a hotfix to lock down the console. Nevertheless, several recordings of this improvised first-person gameplay survived and can be viewed via this Reddit thread or found here.
Judging by the community reaction, many players are now calling for a toggleable first-person option or a standalone mode to be officially integrated into the game.
