Insider Reveals PS6 Release Window: Sony Aiming for 4K at 120 FPS
Sony is actively forging ahead with the development of the PlayStation 6. While official specifications remain under wraps, industry insider Moore’s Law Is Dead has provided fresh insights into what the next-generation hardware might offer.
According to the leaker, Sony is engineering a formidable powerhouse. The console is reportedly being designed to deliver a seamless gaming experience at 4K resolution with a consistent output of 120 frames per second.
This level of performance isn’t purely the result of raw hardware muscle. Sony is doubling down on its proprietary PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) upscaling technology, which debuted alongside the PS5 Pro. The upcoming PSSR 2.0 is expected to substantially elevate visual fidelity and overall gameplay fluidity.
Moore’s Law Is Dead also touched upon the potential launch window. His data suggests that the PlayStation 6 is slated to hit the market in late 2027 or early 2028.
If these timelines prove accurate, we could see a new next-gen arms race ignite as early as next year, as rumors and preliminary announcements for both the PS6 and the successor to the Xbox begin to surface.
