Apple has deemed the iPhone 6/6 Plus as obsolete, and the iPad mini 4 and iPhone 8/8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED as vintage products
The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have been added to the list of obsolete devices, as they were released more than 7 years ago. Now, they cannot be repaired at Apple’s authorized service centers.
The iPad mini 4 and iPhone 8/8 Plus, which were released more than 5 but less than 7 years ago, are considered “vintage”. These devices can be repaired at Apple’s service centers, but only if parts are available. Among all the iPhone 8 models, only the (PRODUCT)RED color variant has been marked vintage – presumably, getting parts in this color is more challenging.
