Announced: Tactical Extraction Shooter with Horror Elements — Engagement: The Grey State

The game has been announced for personal computers.

Grey State Studio and Tencent have unveiled Engagement: The Grey State, a tactical PvPvE shooter with horror elements. The title is currently in development for PC and is slated to launch in 2026 on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and China’s WeGame.

Players will deploy onto a map to hunt grotesque creatures, scavenge valuable loot, and clash with rival players. As a round draws to a close, you’ll face a decision: extract safely with your haul or risk it all to reach higher-tier equipment at the center of a volatile anomaly — an area that often attracts other teams and typically ends in a fight for a seat on the evacuation helicopter.

Three character classes have already been revealed for the initial playtest: the Sledge, the Pyromancer, and the Phantom. No date for the test has been announced yet.

You are a Strider: an elite operative hired by a shadowy organization to venture into the Grey Zone — an unstable dimension teeming with nightmarish monsters and alien artifacts. Your objective is straightforward: recover the Apex — a priceless artifact from the heart of the anomaly — and survive the lawless, nightmarish territories where rival squads are after the same prize. You’re not here to save the world. This is just a job.
