Addison Rae revealed that her collaboration with Lana Del Rey extended beyond sharing the stage this summer; they both possess a relentless pursuit of perfection.
During an August 18 interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Rae praised opening for the alternative-pop icon at Wembley Stadium in early July and even joined Del Rey to perform “Diet Pepsi” and “57.5.”
“It was an absolute blast,” Rae remarked. “Lana ranks among the finest artists of our era—truly, of all time. She’s astonishingly talented, gracious, and exceptionally supportive.”
“Her attention to detail is inspiring,” the influencer continued. “I’m a perfectionist too, and seeing her unwavering commitment to excellence, ensuring each moment captivates the audience, was remarkable.”
This conversation follows by over two months the release of Addison, Rae’s debut album, which launched at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. Several tracks—most notably the breakout single “Diet Pepsi”—evoke echoes of Del Rey’s signature early style.
“I’ll treasure this forever,” Rae posted on Instagram after sharing the stage with her hero. “Thank you, Lana, for being a beautiful, divine soul. I feel the luckiest and happiest girl alive—it was a spiritual experience.”
Del Rey stands among the many influences woven into Addison’s sound. Rae also drew inspiration from childhood icons like Lady Gaga and Britney Spears, along with guidance from mentor Charli XCX.
To celebrate the album’s all-female production team, Rae, alongside producers Luka Kloser and Elvira Anderfjärd, spoke with Billboard about their collaborative process. “A studio filled exclusively with women brought an energy that’s rare in this industry,” Rae told senior writer Kristin Robinson. “It’s not something you experience often.”
“Neither I nor anyone else anticipated the outcome, which felt refreshing—people often have preconceptions,” she added. “We’re roughly the same age, sharing parallel life experiences as women navigating this industry.”
