While Latin musical dynasties exist, such as the Fernandezes, the Riveras, and the Montaners, there are plenty of sibling duos in the mix too.
Below, Billboard compiled a list of already-established and up-and-coming Latin sibling duos that you should be listening to, including Mau & Ricky, Los Dos Carnales, and Las Villa, to name a few.
Angela and Leonardo Aguilar
Although they’re technically not a duo, Angela Aguilar and Leonardo Aguilar, son and daughter of Pepe Aguilar, are marking their territory in the Regional Mexican scene. Both Angela and Leonardo lead their own music careers but don’t shy away from singing together, especially when they’re on tour.
Cali y El Dandee
Brothers Alejandro and Mauricio Rengifo have been going strong as Cali y El Dandee for more than a decade. The Colombian-based duo is known for pop-urban bops such as “Por Fin Te Encontre,” “Locura” and the Danna Paola-assisted “Nada,” to name a few. Besides singing, Mauricio is a Latin Grammy producer of the year winner, who co-produced Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito.”
Jesse & Joy
Born in Mexico City, siblings Jesse and Joy got on the radar with their 2005 hit “Espacio Sideral.” Together, they have brought to life heartfelt pop jams including “¡Corre!,” “Dueles” and “Ecos de Amor,” to name a few. In 2007, they nabbed their first-ever Latin Grammy for best new artist. In total, they have six Latin Grammys and one Grammy. Currently, they are making the rounds with their fifth studio album, Aire.
Las Marti
Longtime Colombian duo Las Marti return with their new album El Sol Va Saliendo, a tribute to their roots and authentic sound. Twin sisters Andrea and Vanessa Martí fuse reggae, cumbia and Colombian rhythms on this set that transmits liberty, happiness and dance. Their song “Café de la Esperanza,” for example, is an ode to Bogota, Colombian coffee, and the streets of La Candelaria.
Las Villa
Las Villa made their debut in 2019 with “Nadita,” helmed by Colombian twins Laura and Lucía. Signed to Warner Music Latina, Las Villa already collaborated with Latin hitmaker Tainy on “Si La Vez” featured on his latest album. Las Villa, who bring an edgy and mystical sound to urban music, have also teamed up with Beele, Miky Woodz and more.
Los Dos Carnales
Brothers Poncho Jr. and Imanol Quezada have been performing for more than 10 years now, playing in buses and markets and at local parties in their native Coahuila, Mexico. But it wasn’t until recently that Los Dos Carnales got their big break after being “discovered” by El Fantasma, who reached out to them in 2018 to collaborate. Los Dos Carnales, known for their distinct core norteño sound, are signed to regional Mexican label AfinArte.
Mau y Ricky
Singer-songwriter brothers Mauricio and Ricardo Montaner, sons of Latin pop artist Ricardo Montaner, have skyrocketed to fame after collaborating with artists such as Karol G, Lali, Thalia and Sebastian Yatra, to name a few. On their latest studio album, Rifresh, the urban-pop duo do not shy away from innovative fusions such as marrying alternative rock with futuristic urban melodies.
REYNA
Indie duo REYNA, composed of sisters Vic and Gab Banuelos, are two of the freshest voices in pop dropping back-to-back anthems. Hailing from the Midwest, the pair has already toured with the likes of CHVRCHES and Kesha. They are currently making the rounds with their single “Quarantine Baby.”
Simone & Simaria
Simon & Simaria are a Brazilian duo formed by sisters Simone Mendes Rocha Diniz and Simaria Mendes Rocha Escrig, which fuses traditional forró rhythms with Latin pop and urban beats. Already an international hit, the Latin Grammy-nominated act formed part of Karol G’s album Ocean on the track “La Vida Continuo.”
Vice Menta
Hailing from Monterrey, Mexico, twin brothers Celo and Genio bring to the forefront their musical project Vice Menta. With songs such as “Granada,” “Rosé” and “Fusilando tus Memorias,” the bilingual duo flaunts their experimental hip-hop-meets-R&B-meets-trap sounds one song at a time. They are currently making the rounds with their Aleman-assisted “Solo Dio$”
