Zelda Skyward Sword HD: the unloved Zelda of the series returns to Switch in high definition

If the community was waiting for new images of the next Zelda Breath of the Wild 2, it is finally The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD that Nintendo took out of its hat to more or less end these 50 minutes of this Nintendo Direct of February 17 2021 very dense. A half-surprise it will say since many clues in recent months already let us think that the Kyoto company was working on a high definition version of this Wii episode which is considered – rightly – as the most failed of the entire saga (noted 15/20 in our columns at the time). Obviously, on November 18, 2021, the game will celebrate its 10 years of existence and like Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD, Nintendo had to pay tribute to it.

It is also Eiji Aonuma himself who came to present us the different gameplay mechanics of the game, and in particular the gameplay with the gyroscopic features of the Joy-Con. Indeed, in order not to betray the gameplay of the time on Wii, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD will not fail to offer sequences where it will be necessary to move the Joy-Con on the screen to perform certain tasks, such as shooting an arrow mimicking a bow that we will bend, or strike enemies with his sword and defend himself with the shield. Of course, to avoid scaring away gamers allergic to motion gaming, Nintendo had the good idea to integrate an option to disable this all-gunned gameplay, knowing that Nintendo Switch Lite owners would never have been able to access it. In the meantime, Eiji Aonuma tells us that the game will run at 60 frames per second, that it will be an HD port and in no case a remaster (much less a remake) and that the game is now and already in pre-order. But are you ready to slam € 59.99 for one of the saga’s most maligned episodes?
