The veterans behind the iconic Burnout series are currently navigating a turbulent period.
Three Fields Entertainment, a studio established by former developers of the Burnout franchise, has launched a Patreon campaign in a desperate bid to preserve its team and continue working on the racing sandbox, Wreckreation. Following its release in October 2025, the game was met with a wave of criticism due to technical instability and a lack of day-one content, ultimately leading to a commercial failure.
In early December, studio head Fiona Sperry shared a poignant update on her professional social media profile, revealing that the entire workforce—consisting of approximately 10 employees—had been issued redundancy notices.
To stave off a total shutdown, Three Fields is seeking approximately $65,000 per month through Patreon to cover operational costs. The studio has candidly admitted that the coming months will be the most critical in determining its future survival.
