The director noted that the grueling overtime periods traditionally associated with game development are finally becoming socially unacceptable. He highlighted that Midnight was produced without demanding weekend work or late-night shifts from the staff. “This is a marathon, not a sprint,” Hazzikostas added. “We intend to keep building this world for decades to come, and we need a development cycle that supports that longevity.”
While World of Warcraft has long invited players to treat Azeroth as a home, the arrival of Midnight marks the first time they will truly have a private sanctuary to call their own.
