Silver Jews’ David Berman to Release New Album in 2019, Says Bob Nastanovich

In 2009, David Berman ended Silver Jews after releasing their last album, the earlier yr’s Lookout Mountain Lookout Sea. In a brand new episode of “3 Songs Podcast,” visitor Bob Nastanovich, a member of Silver Jews and Pavement, revealed that Berman is planning a comeback for subsequent yr. “I’m pleased to announce that my buddy David Berman is gonna put out in 2019 his first recorded output in a little over a decade,” he says.

Nastanovich continues, “The band’s not gonna be called Silver Jews anymore. It’s gonna be called Purple Mountains.” He additionally notes that the report will probably be launched by Silver Jews’ longtime label Drag City. (A consultant for Drag City had no remark when contacted by Pitchfork.) Listen to the complete episode beneath; the announcement comes across the 58:00 mark.

Back in 2015, Nastonovich teased a reunion, sharing a photograph with Berman “after Jews practice” and revealing two music titles. Their compilation Early Times arrived in 2011.
