Mass hacking of Russians’ Wi-Fi routers, extracting personal data through a vulnerability — “Izvestia”
In September, hackers discovered a vulnerability in routers that allows them to connect to private networks and steal traffic, including personal data and user information. Among the affected brands are Xiaomi, Ubiquiti, and Netgear.
Experts believe the scale of this threat is enormous: every device connected to the network could potentially fall victim to hacking through the Wi-Fi chip.
It is impossible to protect oneself from this independently, but you can try updating the software by installing the latest firmware version and await the manufacturers’ response.
