Why Not Control 2? Remedy Reveals the Mystery Behind the Name Control Resonant
Control Resonant, the highly anticipated successor to one of the most innovative titles in recent memory, is slated for release later this year. While a specific launch date remains under wraps, Remedy Entertainment is actively building momentum and stoking player curiosity.
This project is far more than a conventional sequel to 2019’s Control. The developers have not only shifted the narrative focus to a new protagonist but have also reimagined the gameplay experience, transitioning from a third-person action-adventure into a full-fledged action-RPG.
The creative team clarified the reasoning behind the title choice, noting that the departure from “Control 2” is deeply rooted in the franchise’s expanding lore. The central threat in Control Resonant is the Resonants: corrupted remnants of individuals who once wielded immense power. It falls to Dylan to confront these formidable shadows of the past.
The game is already available for wishlisting on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the App Store.
