Last evening, Basilica Hudson celebrated its biennial Pioneering People fundraiser with a tribute to Courtney Love known as “A Tribute: Celebrating the Magic and the Power.” It featured appearances from the National’s Aaron Dessner, Chloë Sevigny, and plenty of others in Hudson, New York. At one level, Love and Melissa Auf der Maur—former Hole band member and co-founder of Basilica Hudson—took the stage to carry out some Hole classics. They did “Doll Parts” and “Miss World” with the Rock Academy Rebel Girls and the Hold Steady’s Tad Kubler, in addition to “Softer Softest” with Faith No More’s Roddy Bottum on piano.
