Warhammer Quest: Darkwater board game developers reveal abilities of seven characters

Games Workshop has revealed new details to players about the Warhammer Quest: Darkwater tabletop game. Today fans learned what to expect from Edmark Valoran, Drolf Ironhead, Bren Tylis, Inara Sion, Drasher Vorn, Keltannor and Jacobus Vain.

The team behind the cooperative board game Warhammer Quest: Darkwater, set in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar universe, has published a guide outlining the abilities of the playable heroes.

Edmark Valoran serves as the party’s tank. He can reliably absorb blows with the Manticore Shield and answer with fierce counterattacks fueled by his hot temper.

Drolf Ironhead is a duardin who can ignore the effects of deadly and binding curses on cards (traps and other hazards). His scout gear lets him bypass blocked tiles entirely, making him perfect for exploring the maze-like Jade Monastery. He also carries a crossbow.

Bren Tylis can reroll all movement (all characters except Drolf roll a die to determine movement), attack, and defense rolls each turn. Her knack for handling dusty relics also gives her a chance to keep rewards that would otherwise be lost.

Inara Sion can conjure a water barrier to block a chosen tile, useful for cutting off paths enemies might use. She can also move that barrier if she is positioned next to it.

Drasher Vorn, the chieftain of a wolfkin tribe from Gur, can transform into a mindless berserker. As he sustains damage and enemies fall, his rage accumulates until it erupts in a frenzy. He can employ the Black Claw artifact to harm himself deliberately, stoking his fury and unlocking savage strength.

Keltannor the centaur archer is a mobility expert. He can dash through lines of weaker foes and vault over them while unleashing precise volleys of arrows. He can also rally allies with his hunting horn, giving them a chance to move one tile.

Jacobus Vain, the jade mage, favors summoning the spirit Whisper. The spirit can make attacks, or the mage may exchange places with Whisper. Jacobus’s staff can entangle enemies, slowing their movement and weakening their attacks.

Notably, each hero has an upgraded version of their signature gear that can be discovered. Four of the core heroes also have alternate character cards.
