The global iOS release has been postponed for undisclosed reasons.
BarbarQ 2, the arcade MOBA developed by BBQ Studio, has officially launched on Android devices. Following its debut on January 6th, the title saw an impressive surge in popularity, exceeding 100,000 installations on Google Play within the first 24 hours. Conversely, the iOS version has yet to appear on the App Store; the developers have stated that an update regarding the launch will be provided later, though they have not specified the cause of the delay.
This sequel builds upon the success of the original BarbarQ, which amassed over ten million downloads. BarbarQ 2 doubles down on high-energy, chaotic gameplay, featuring 3v3v3 skirmishes in arenas filled with dynamic events and a variety of competitive modes.
A significant addition to the sequel is the clan system, which permits players to establish their own settlements. Beyond the heat of battle, players can recruit warriors, venture out to explore islands, and upgrade their villages using resources gathered during their expeditions.
The launch roster includes 13 distinct heroes that can be unlocked using earned in-game gold. Each character offers a unique playstyle and set of abilities, while a newly implemented rune system provides deeper customization, allowing players to tailor their skills to their tactical preferences.
In addition to the mobile experience, BarbarQ 2 has already been listed on Steam and the PlayStation Store. While a release on PC and home consoles is expected, the specific launch dates for these platforms remain under wraps.
