Figure skaters perform Mortal Kombat-style “fight” at Milan Olympics
The performance bore a striking resemblance to the NetherRealm Studios franchise, though a few iconic details were left behind.
Gaming enthusiasts recently highlighted a standout routine by the Georgian national team during the Olympic gala in Milan. The figure skating pair choreographed a sequence that felt like a direct homage to the Mortal Kombat fighting series.
Anastasia Metelkina and Luka Berulava took center stage at the exhibition gala, an event focused on entertaining the audience rather than satisfying a strict panel of technical judges.
Skating to the high-octane “Techno Syndrome” theme, Berulava stepped into the role of the cryomancer Sub-Zero, while Metelkina portrayed Kitana—albeit without her signature razor-edged fans.
The duo successfully replicated the unmistakable combat stances and movements of the game’s fighters on the ice. However, the routine ended without a cinematic Fatality—an omission that many fans jokingly noted as a missed opportunity for a truly flawless victory.
