“Supermassive Games is thrilled to announce that its sci-fi survival horror odyssey, Directive 8020, will officially launch on May 12, 2026,” a recent press release confirmed. The game promises a paranoia-rich environment where “trust is a fragile resource and every decision carries lethal consequences.” The central conflict revolves around identifying which crew members have been compromised by a shapeshifting threat, while a new “Turning Points” rewind mechanic will allow players to reconsider pivotal, life-altering choices.

At launch, Directive 8020 will feature a complete single-player campaign and support for up to five-player local co-op. Full online multiplayer functionality is expected to follow shortly after as a free update. In the meantime, horror aficionados can sharpen their survival skills with our curated list of the best survival horror games currently available.
