Toriel plush from Undertale

Undertale’s passionate community recently came together to support Doctors Without Borders, raising a total of $322,805.68 during a two-day celebration marking the game’s 10th anniversary.

The anniversary stream, hosted in part by Fangamer, centered on a compact recreation of an Undertale-themed broadcast that included a text-to-speech participation from creator Toby Fox, preserving his long-standing preference for a more enigmatic public presence. The event page is available at undertale.com/10.

The format echoed charity marathons like Games Done Quick: viewers donated to influence polls and in-game choices. Those contributions—combined with auction proceeds and one-off donations—reached the final tally of $322,805.68 for Doctors Without Borders, an international humanitarian organization that provides medical aid in crisis zones worldwide.

Beyond direct donations, two standout auction items added substantially to the fundraising total. A bespoke, oversized plush of Toriel—the game’s nurturing mother figure—sold for $11,000 after 188 bids.

Another highlight was a handcrafted 10th Anniversary TV diorama by Camille Young. The piece, featuring a tiny dog and a miniature hotdog poised in front of a retro gaming setup (with interactive buttons and a magnetically posable dog), carried an estimated value of $1,000 but fetched $13,969.67 after 155 bids.

The stream was sprinkled with Easter eggs that sent the community into a flurry of speculation; Toby Fox remained characteristically mysterious about any hints or implications. Whatever the future holds for Undertale, it’s heartening to see the community’s enthusiasm directed toward meaningful charity work.
