To Understand Kojima’s OD: Knock Teaser, You Only Need to Watch It 100 Times: The Creator’s New Hint for Gamers

Dedicated fans now have a clearer strategy for dissecting Hideo Kojima’s cryptic game teasers.

Hideo Kojima recently sat down for a fresh interview with Nikkei Xtrend, where the conversation naturally turned toward his enigmatic project, OD (formerly referred to in conjunction with “Knock”).

The game’s promotional material has ignited intense curiosity, leaving the gaming community scrambling to define exactly what this experience entails. According to the visionary creator, it represents a departure from traditional formats—a medium “unlike anything else” currently on the market:

I suspect that when you first encounter OD, it will look like a horror game to you. However, the underlying system it is built upon is quite unconventional. While everything is rendered within a game engine, the architecture is entirely unique. This is exactly what we mean when we say we are collaborating with Microsoft to pioneer a completely new form of media.

Although Kojima is restricted from revealing specific details, he offered a cryptic hint: fans should analyze the teaser with extreme scrutiny.

I cannot say anything further—Mr. Phil [Spencer] would be quite cross with me. But in all seriousness, if you watch the teaser trailer repeatedly, you might stumble upon a hidden clue. I can’t reveal what it is, but perhaps if you view it 100 times… The phrase ‘for all players and screamers’ that appears at the end is also a major hint.
