The film adaptation of A.S. Pushkin’s “The Tale of Tsar Saltan” has officially crossed the 2 billion ruble mark in box office receipts. This is indicated by data from the EAIS system.
Sarik Andreasyan’s film premiered in Russian cinemas on February 12. The plot tells the story of a girl named Annushka, who marries Tsar Saltan. Having become a victim of intrigue by her stepmother and sister, the heroine finds herself locked in a barrel and thrown into the ocean.
The film stars Pavel Priluchny, Liza Moryak, Alexey Onezhen, Alisa Kot, Vladimir Sychev, and others. “The Tale” became Andreasyan’s second film this year to cross the 2 billion mark (after “Prostokvashino”).
