Sony has officially unveiled the latest additions to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, keeping the momentum high following a stellar close to the previous year. Starting January 20, subscribers to the Extra and Premium tiers will gain access to a formidable slate of titles, including the latest mainline Resident Evil entry and a massive Yakuza RPG, according to a recent update on the PlayStation Blog.
The 2021 hit Resident Evil Village leads the charge. Perhaps best known for introducing the internet-breaking Lady Dimitrescu, this survival-horror sequel was a critical and commercial triumph, earning a Game of the Year nomination at the 2021 Game Awards. The title is widely celebrated for its seamless fusion of visceral action and psychological dread, effectively arguing that the two genres are simply different ways to deliver the same heart-pounding thrill.
Joining the horror icon is Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, which transports the long-running series from the neon lights of Japan to the sun-drenched shores of Hawaii. The game maintains the franchise’s trademark balance of heavy-hitting emotional stakes and absurd levity. Players control both Ichiban Kasuga and veteran protagonist Kazuma Kiryu as they hunt for Kasuga’s mother while engaging in bizarre side activities, such as taking photos of eccentric locals and battling giant sharks. Often cited as one of the best experiences available on the PS5, it is arguably the most expansive entry in the series to date.
In addition to these blockbuster headliners, several other diverse titles are set to join the service on January 20:
- Expeditions: A MudRunner Game
- A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead
- Darkest Dungeon 2
- The Exit 8
- Art of Rally
- A Little to the Left
- Ridge Racer (Exclusive to Premium subscribers)
The PlayStation Plus Game Catalog provides a curated library of hundreds of PS4 and PS5 titles for those subscribed to the service’s mid- and high-tier plans. Functioning as Sony’s answer to Xbox Game Pass, it offers a steady stream of rotating content for members to download and enjoy at no additional cost beyond the subscription fee.
