The Community Spotlight – 03/19/2016

Many thanks to keithstack for the banner this week!

Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight and I, @zombiepie, am once again honored to be your host. This week was another eventful one for the Giant Bomb Community. Firstly, the community was sheepishly buzzing about Clash Royale after Brad mentioned it on the Bombcast. Then the community directed its attention towards the more traditional targets of Salt and Sanctuary as well as Trackmania Turbo. That and y’all are still clearly talking about Tom Clancy’s The Division and Stardew Valley. However, with that aside let’s get on to a bit of Giant Bomb related housekeeping!

  • As you are hopefully already aware of there is new merchandise in the Giant Bomb Emporium! Go and get yourself a glow in the dark t-shirt, retro styled hat, and/or Giant Bomb East themed poster.
  • A few weeks ago I mentioned that site engineer @wcarle is actively working on improving the wiki. This week he mentioned that more details on those improvements will be revealed latter this week. The “beta” for the new wiki is also planned to launch soon.
  • Friend of the site Patrick Klepek created a YouTube video that chronicles his ill-fated bet with Dan Ryckert from his loss in Mario Maker, to the loss of his goatee.
  • Speaking of YouTube, Dan has recently begun streaming his follies in Stardew Valley over the weekends. If did not manage to catch any of these streams when they went live, he has luckily been archiving them to his YouTube Channel. Here’s the first stream where Dan manages to reach level 100 in the mines.

Wonderful Wikis

Pokkén Tournament

If you had asked me five years ago if there would be a Pokémon fighting game…I would have beleived you, but combining Pokémon with Tekken? That’s just downright bonkers! However, here we are with Pokken Tournament, the fighting game that is way better than it has any right to be.

Fighter’s History: Mizoguchi Kiki Ippatsu!!

The weird Super Famicom game for this week is this console-exclusive sequel to Fighter’s History. Mizoguchi is a man who loves his fried octopus and is willing to beat up anyone who disagrees, even if they happen to be anAtomic Runner or everyone’s favorite fire-breathing Russian strongman Karnov. Just Data East being Data East.
