The fifth and final season of Stranger Things begins its rollout this November as the first of a three-volume release. Promoted by the cast and creators as the series’ most action-heavy chapter yet, co-creator Ross Duffer has shared additional details with fans in a recent Instagram post.

The creative team says this season doubles as a conclusive farewell — a final push to resolve long-running mysteries and give viewers closure. Set more than a year after the previous season’s events, the story finds Hawkins under military lockdown while the characters grapple with Vecna and the widening danger posed by the Upside Down.

In his Instagram reel — captioned “ACTUAL runtimes ✌️” — Duffer revealed the running times for the season’s first four episodes. They are:

  • Chapter One: The Crawl — 1 hour, 8 minutes
  • Chapter Two: The Vanishing Of… — 54 minutes
  • Chapter Three: The Turnbow Trap — 1 hour, 6 minutes
  • Chapter Four: Sorcerer — 1 hour, 23 minutes

These initial four chapters of Stranger Things season 5 will arrive on Netflix at 5 p.m. PT on Nov. 26. Runtime details for the remaining four episodes — three of which are scheduled for a Christmas release and the finale set for New Year’s Eve — have not yet been disclosed. Given the substantial lengths already revealed, viewers should expect an expansive, cinematic conclusion to the series.
