Sorry, Respawn aren’t secretly engaged on one other Titanfall

Where are you hiding the mechs, Respawn? Sure, Apex Legends is phenomenal stuff. And Jedi: Fallen Order? Well, it’s Star Wars, what else would you like? Mechs, expensive reader, that’s what I would like. But in an interview at the moment, Respawn founder Vince Zampella defined that there are not any plans for a Titanfall 2 successor anytime quickly – although this summer time is probably not fully with out one other glimpse at one thing new from the builders.

Speaking to IGN on the studio’s tenth anniversary, Zampella defined that there’s “nothing currently in development” for the Blomkamp-adjacent large robotic shooter. But even when it does dwell on in methods by means of mech-free follow-up Apex Legends, there’s definitely curiosity “I would personally like to see some kind of resurrection there. We’ll see if I can make that happen.”

Besides Apex, although, it’s been 4 years since we noticed a correct Respawn Mech ’em up in Titanfall 2. Fitting, unhappy as it might be – the sequence has all the time been considerably maligned, regardless of having a few of the stompiest mechs, the best grappling hooks, and time travel.

Zampella, in fact, is now heading up a team over at Dice LA. While their present game is a methods off from a proper announcement, he bluntly explains: “that team is a shooter team. Chances are it’s going to be something along those lines”.

“The same tenets that apply to Respawn of doing something new and exciting and kind of breaking the genre a little bit is what we’re going to apply to DICE LA. We’re going to look at trying to do something cool.”

As for Respawn? Besides their Medal Of Honor VR factor, an EA spokesperson (masking for a hesitant Zampella) famous that “It’s safe to assume that yes, you might see some things from Respawn at EA Play” on June 11th – issues that Zampella was hesitant to say to take care of a stage of “surprise and delight” for followers.

Well, Vince, you’ll be able to “surprise and delight” me if you resolve to ship us a 30-ton strolling tank. My inbox is open.
