Sonic Youth Announce “30 Years of Daydream Nation” Event

Sonic Youth have introduced an occasion to have fun the 30th anniversary of their landmark 1988 album Daydream Nation. “Sonic Youth: 30 Years of Daydream Nation” is an evening of movies and talks associated to the file. It takes place at Portland’s Hollywood Theatre on October 20 and can embody excerpts from Lance Bangs’ new live performance movie Daydream Nation. The movie reveals the band performing the titular album in full in 2007. Watch the trailer.

In addition to Bangs’ movie, the Hollywood Theatre will display Charles Atlas’ 1989 documentary Put Blood within the Music (about Sonic Youth and the New York noise scene), and On Rust, which presents early footage of the band acting on Dutch tv. The night may even function a dialog with drummer Steve Shelley, Bangs, and the band’s archivist Aaron Mullan.
