Sega will include Sonic the Fighters, Sonic the Hedgehog’s 1996 arcade fighting game, as a playable bonus in this fall’s Lost Judgment, the sequel to Yakuza series spinoff Judgment. Sonic the Fighters was confirmed as a playable arcade game in Lost Judgment during Thursday’s Sonic Central livestream.

Sonic the Fighters will be accessible in the upcoming detective action game’s arcades, as will Fighting Vipers. Sega and its Ryu ga Gotoku Studio have a habit of squeezing vintage arcade games into the Yakuza series; the original Judgment featured Space Harrier, Fantasy Zone, Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, and Fighting Vipers as playable arcade cabinets.

Sega’s AM2 team developed the original Sonic the Fighters, which featured one-on-one 3D battles between Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails, Fang the Sniper, Bean the Dynamite, Bark the Polar Bear, Espio the Chameleon, Amy Rose, and Knuckles the Echidna. Sonic the Fighters was ported to GameCube and PlayStation 2 in 2005, and was later released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Lost Judgment is scheduled to be released worldwide on Sept. 24 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
