I see the Battlefield 6 skin discourse has started. While I agree with not having wacky skins in the game, these really are not THAT bad.The reality is that no one is going to buy the Battle Pass en masse for a bunch of dogshit dessert camo skins… Sorry, but they are just… pic.twitter.com/tt7I92cqR6October 22, 2025
Admittedly, in a battle pass model, muted or ultra-realistic skins rarely drive mass purchases. These designs don’t strike me as especially stylish, but they sit somewhere between traditional military camo and the over-the-top cosmetics in other shooters. And practically speaking, many players rarely see their own character in first-person play — so flashy options often exist more for show than function. From years of online shooters, it’s clear that players enjoy loud, conspicuous items to display — think of Call of Duty’s golden weapons and similar vanity rewards.
Ultimately, the market will decide: if EA sees the battle pass performing well and players equipping the brighter sets, expect more of the same. If the community rejects them, future drops will likely be dialed back toward the grounded look the developers touted.
