The Silent Hill franchise has roared back into the spotlight, once again vying for dominance in the survival horror genre. It is not only challenging the long-standing reign of Resident Evil but also silencing the skeptics who believed the series was permanently lost to time.
In a recent sit-down with Famitsu, Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto detailed Konami’s ambitious expansion plans. Following the commercial triumph of the Silent Hill 2 remake and the distinct, refreshing vision of Silent Hill f, the company has no intention of slowing down. The roadmap includes the release of Silent Hill Townfall in 2026, while Bloober Team is reportedly hard at work on another project within the universe, tentatively scheduled for a 2027 debut.
Okamoto emphasized that the company envisions a future where the Silent Hill brand remains a constant fixture in gaming. The ultimate goal is to establish a sustainable production rhythm, aiming for one major release every year.
Between the launch of Silent Hill 2 in October 2024 and the arrival of Silent Hill f in September 2025, we have successfully realigned the franchise for a new era. By balancing our announced roadmap with several unannounced projects, we aim to maintain a release cadence of approximately one title per year. While the ultimate impact of this strategy remains to be seen, I am fully committed to its success as producer. Our goal is to ensure that interest in Silent Hill continues to flourish. We will share more information soon, and we appreciate your patience in the meantime.
