Fans Waited 12 Years: Granblue Fantasy is Finally Coming to Steam

The global gaming landscape is home to massive titles that, while virtually unknown in the West, command audiences of hundreds of millions across Japan, China, and South Korea. One such titan of the East is finally readying itself for an official debut on Western soil.

We are talking about juggernauts with player bases that frequently dwarf the likes of Fortnite, Roblox, and Counter-Strike. Giants such as Dungeon Fighter Online (700 million players), Crossfire (1 billion players), and Granblue Fantasy (over 30 million players) have long dominated Asian markets. While previous attempts to breach the West have seen mixed results—with DNF Duel failing to gain a foothold and Crossfire X being delisted—recent entries like Granblue Fantasy Versus and Relink have successfully captured the attention of international audiences.

It has now been officially confirmed that the original 2014 Granblue Fantasy title will be making its long-awaited debut on Steam, with a release scheduled for March 2026. This version is intended as a fresh start for newcomers; as such, existing Cygames accounts cannot be linked to the Steam edition.

“Granblue Fantasy launches on Steam on March 10, 2026! Reunite with your favorite characters and forge the ultimate crew. This version is exclusively available to players outside of Japan and select regions. Please note that existing accounts cannot be linked to the Steam release.”
