Another sandbox-inspired title is set to arrive on the market soon.
Hytale became a long-delayed project whose release was pushed back for years. This summer the developers announced the project’s shutdown along with the closure of Hypixel Studios.
But the story didn’t end there. In November co-founder Simon Collins-Laflamme reached out to confirm a deal — the rights to Hytale were acquired from Riot Games, and development will continue.
Over the past few weeks we’ve brought back more than 30 developers who know Hytale inside out. Additional team members will join in the coming days. We’re returning to the original vision for the project. Now fully independent, we personally pledge to support and advance the game over the next ten years. Deals like this are rare in the games industry — thank you to everyone who kept believing.
There is no confirmed start date for Hytale’s early access yet — the team says they’ll announce the date “in the coming days.”
The game will be released on PC, and the developers warn it will require some configuration; the current build contains known issues:
The current build includes over 100 NPCs and thousands of items and blocks, but many of these elements are not yet properly tuned. Expect unbalanced resource drops, rough edges, and assorted bugs.
The developers have already released a new location teaser:
